The Canadian new media industry is one of the most vibrant in the world.
In fact, the latest directory published by MultiMediator lists over
1100 Canadian new media companies. Together they employ thousands of
individuals who create some of the medium's best interactive CD-ROMs,
Web sites and so much more.
The Canadian New Media Awards were created as a way of recognizing -- and celebrating --
the very best in this thriving Canadian industry. According to the 2002 Interactive Media
Producer Survey, the Canadian New Media Awards was the second most popular industry event
to attend by the Canadian New Media Industry, second only to Comdex.
In this, its fourth year, the Canadian New Media Awards will honour individuals and companies
in a total of 12 diverse categories, including New Media Visionary,
Educator of the Year and Most Promising New Company.
Nominations for all categories will be accepted from February 17, 2003 until March 31, 2003.
A selection committee comprised of industry professionals
will pick 5 finalists from each category.
The winners of this year's Canadian New Media Awards will be announced at a special gala
awards ceremony to be held on June 2, 2003, in Toronto, Ontario.
